Reverse Acid Reflux (GERD) Naturally!
Would you?  Could you?  Are you ready to take a chance on feeling fabulous and not suffering from heartburn, bloating and digestive stress?  Is this your life?

Everywhere I go I hear more and more people talking about acid reflux.  Whether it’s a client or a friend telling me that they went to the ER because they thought they were having a heart attack only to find out it was acid reflux; it seems to be epidemic.  It’s very important that you correct this problem as you do not want it to evolve into Barret’s esophagitis which is when the esophagus tissue hardens.

The typical medical approach is generally that you are given some type of medication to inhibit acid production in the stomach so that it doesn't seep up into the esophagus. (proton pump inhibitors PPI)  However, when the acid is inhibited so is much of your digestion. Dr Robert Young, author of the pH Miracle and a pioneer in testing the acid/alkaline balance in the body believes that the true cause of re-flux is not an excess in acid production but a deficiency of alkalinity in the stomach in addition to the entire body.  He claims that when the body is deficient in alkaline minerals which comes from years of eating and drinking acidic foods and fluids, in addition to living a stressful life, disease may occur.  He says “To prevent nausea, acid reflux, ulcers and cancerous cells, eat, drink and take supplements that are alkalizing.”

So what are acidic foods?  Meat, poultry and some fish, sugar, dairy, grains, coffee, and alcohol are all acidic.  Most water is slightly acidic.

What are alkaline foods?  Most vegetables especially the dark green leafy ones, sour fruits, raw nuts, wild salmon, lemon, lime, avocados, cucumbers and uncooked tomatoes.

Does this mean you need to be a vegan?  In my opinion, no, but you want to make sure to keep the balance of alkaline much higher than the acidic. Some find that they are able to keep their acid reflux at bay by having a tablespoon of organic apple cider vinegar in a little water about 5-10 minutes prior to eating – try it.

It’s not always easy to eat an exclusively alkaline diet, but you can drink alkaline water.  How can you alkalinize your water?   Add lemon or lime to it, put a little baking soda in it, add green powder to your water and drink alkaline ionized water.  To make alkaline ionized water there are machines that can transform your tap water.  I’ve seen alkaline water transform many of my friends and clients.  Read this article for lots more information. It’s not hard to get on a good track to eating this way or drinking the water.

If you’d like to chat about ways the alkaline ionized water can help you, please feel free to contact me and we can talk. Comment below if you’ve found other ways of dealing with your acid reflux.  I'd love to hear from you.
